How to improve the management of updates against vulnerabilities

The current situation
Very often, security updates are distributed only after the vulnerability was announced and it leaves plenty of time to "bad." They usually have at least a month in which there are too much trouble finding people that we have not yet installed updates.
But because users do not install the updates as they are distributed? After all, most programs today include auto-update mechanisms, and then we do not even remember to download them.
Updates too laborious
However, there are problems in the current method by which updates are distributed applications. Most people use for months or even years, their PC without paying any attention to the periodic warnings displayed by the operating system and applications. The reason? While the procedure is almost completely automatic installation of updates is almost always a hassle, which leads to wasted time.
When you install an update to the browser for example, should close it and restart it, but they often have open many pages, many of which might be read. Before you close the browser, therefore necessary to consider them all to be sure not to miss anything, which still results in unnecessary loss of time.
How to improve the situation
The software house should organize the updates so that their installation does not affect user productivity.
For example, do not prevent use of an application while it is downloading updates. Make sure these are downloaded in the background and alert you only when everything is ready for installation. Of course it would be great if the application could install its own updates in the complete autonomy during normal use, but this is not reasonably possible.
However, most software manufacturers should be able without too much effort to provide for saving the state of an application before an upgrade, so you can restore to update installed. In any case, users almost never have as a priority the updates, even those related to your antivirus. Normally expect to buy a new PC. The best thing the computer industry can do then is to give users not making excuses updates as transparent as possible.
