Exactly how much Toshiba Qosmio X500 is not shown in the press release, but you can probably assume that it is both large and heavy. The computer is designed in black and red with brilliant function keys.
The processor that drives the Qosmio X500 is an Intel Core i7 720QM (2.8 GHz, 6MB L2 cache and 1.3GHz FSB). Up to 6 GB of internal memory can be installed, and then by type of DDR3 at 1066MHz. USB memory with good protection against viruses

Transcend has launched a new USB flash drive called JetFlash V15 , which attacks the problem of viruses that contain a security program from Trend Micro. When files are written to the USB memory are checked automatically for viruses.
The software is on the JetFlash V15 is called Trend Micro USB Security and it seems to be an interesting solution. When you connect your USB flash drive to a new computer, you need not worry that the virus infects memory.
USB Security stops infected files that attempt to copy itself to the JetFlash V15.When the software detects an Internet connection, it will update itself with the latest virus definitions. The idea is that Trend Micro USB Security to be as automatic as possible. A bit disappointing is that the program that comes with JetFlash V15 is only a 90-day trial ...

Trenscend JetFlash V15 comes in capacities of 4, 8 and 16 GB and has a price tag of 207, 292 and 551 crowns.

15 programs you need on your computer !

Have you reformatted your computer, or perhaps bought a new one? Then it's a lot of programs that you need to install on your computer for you to get started and start using it properly.
The needs are understood differently depending on what you use your computer to. For my part, so are the programs that are listed here are essential to my usage of the computer for both business and private. Do you have a completely "clean" computer, so go ahead and start downloading and installing!

AVG Anti-Virus

The first should install when you have a new computer for viruses. One of the best free programs, which also is one of the most popular, is AVG Antivirus. It might not be the fastest among the anti-virus tools available, but I like the design of the program and it has so far managed to prevent my computers from becoming infected with the virus.

WinRAR

WinRAR is a very simple program to manage compressed files. It not only handles rar files but also zip files and a dozen more or less unusual format. The program has a simple interface and you can quickly access the features when you right click on files in Windows Explorer. That it also available in Swedish is a plus.

WinAmp

The bundled Windows Media Player does indeed as good to play music that with WinAmp, but Winamp is still a program that I like and who has been with me on my computers for many years. I find myself not on the new user interface (which admittedly has been quite some time now, well maybe not so new anymore) for the program, without using the classic skin for it.

Spotify

Spotify is the newest program on my list of must-have programs. Although the supply of songs are now limited, so Spotify is still a fantastic format. Nice not having to worry about backing up music archive!
FlashFXP

There are many good FTP clients. The one I caught on to is FlashFXP. The interface is simple, it's quick to connect to new servers and there are functions for transfers between FTP servers. By pressing F9 placed the program in the system tray which is easily accessible.

Firefox

Internet Explorer has long been abandoned, for my part, it's Firefox related. Memory devours problems that the program had now once and for all fixed and the browser is both fast and clean.

Adobe Flash Player

Without the Flash player, you can not view content on video sites like YouTube. A need to install both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

Java

Sun's Java engine is also a need to install to run both standard Java applications and Java applets that run in your browser.

Real Alternative

RealAudio and RealVideo are common formats for audio and video on the web. Real Alternative is a completely free tool that handles these formats. The Real Alternative also eliminates the annoying advertising windows that constantly pop up on you instead are using the free version of Real Player.

QuickTime Alternative

QuickTime format is used primarily for playback of video clips but there are also sounds that are in QuickTime format. QuickTime Alternative is a free software with full support for these formats. Also included is a media player that utséendemässigt is a copy of the old and missing the media player from Windows XP's early days.

DivX

With DivX codec installed on your machine, you can play movies in both Xvid and DivX formats, formats that are common to compress DVD movies into smaller file sizes.

ICQ

ICQ is an instant messaging program that survived a languishing in line with Microsoft's competing program Messenger has become increasingly popular. Myself, I can still my ICQ number by heart and use the program to keep in touch with old friends around the world.

MSN Messenger

When the Messenger first began to be popular so I hated the program and could not understand how it was preferable to ICQ. Since today, however, is the dominant instant messaging program so I have been giving to me. Messenger is just as addictive as ICQ was the beginning. The functions for audio and video conferencing is also much better than the Messenger of ICQ.

Paint.Net

Actually, I prefer to use Photoshop, but because the license for photoshop is anything but cheap and I do not want to encourage piracy by telling about the program available for download from Piratebay, so Paint.Net is a program to take a closer look at.Functionally, it is very good and it is also free.

Open Office

Although it is nowhere near as good as Microsoft Office in my opinion, it will work Open office is more than the minimum word processing. The program is of course compatible with Microsoft file formats and it does not cost a penny to acquire.

Netgear Large easy network hard drive for the home

Netgear releases in two weeks, a new network hard drive (NAS) called Netgear Great. The device is built for home users, and efforts have to make it easy to use. This includes the sharing of such images to the friends to be very smooth.

Netgear Large is a NAS, that is, a unit of hard drive that connects to your network instead of directly to a computer. By having it connected to the network, all computers in your home using your hard disk to store files and backups.
One of the things you have put effort into when developed Netgear Major seems to be the possibility of sharing of such photos and video footage. Instead of having to send large files via email or upload to web servers, so the user opts for an interface onMyStora.com where it is possible to configure access to the device from the Internet. You can thus choose which files on your hard disk that you want to let your friends and family access.

Netgear Large comes with a hard drive on a TB. However, there is room for another hard drive in the chassis, and these can be mirrored to increase security. By reflecting the contents of each other, the same information that is stored on both disks. When a drive fails, simply replace it, without losing any files.
Support for DLNA technology available in Large, which allows you to stream media files from storage device to other devices that can play back content via DLNA. Some examples of these include the PlayStation 3 , Xbox 360 , iPhone and a bunch of different media players.
Netgear Large launched as told in about two weeks and the unit (identity MS2110 ) will cost 2495 SEK .

The hardware of Toshiba's new mini PCs make no direct out from the crowd. It is based on an Intel Atom processor at 1.6 GHz, has 1GB of internal memory and a 160GB hard drive. That's about what the vast majority of mini-computers have today. The screen is 10.1 inches, it is also very common. At the top of the screen is a webcam of 0.3 megapixel.
One feature that is a bit more exclusive to Toshiba NB200 mini is that it has one, what it calls, monitoring system to protect the hard drive against drops and bumps.Furthermore, one of the three USB 2.0 ports so-called Sleep'n'Charge function. It allows you to connect devices that charge via USB (MP3 players etc) but the computer is on.
There are two laptop batteries, one with four cells and one with six cells. It is the latter that can handle up to nine hours of battery life . 6-cell battery, however, is an option that costs about 950 dollars. Computer were delivered as standard with 4-cell battery. The target price for the computer is set to 5290 SEK, but it can get very expensive.

New computer draw 0 watts in sleep mode - Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo

Fujitsu Siemens launches just in time for summer Esprimo P7935 and E7935 .It is the world's first computer models that consume 0 watts in sleep mode. The technology presented at the ongoing CeBIT show in Hanover.
The big electronics trade fair CeBIT going on right now down in Hanover, Germany. The world's leading electronics companies are of course on hand to compete for attention among the visitors and press people. One of the trump cards from Fujitsi Siemens this year, the company's newly developed technology for computers that should produce 0 watts power consumption in sleep mode.
The beauty of it is that computers, although they therefore consumes minimal power in sleep mode, can be set to be activated for a predetermined period of time to search for and install any available updates. The idea is that technology must be able to save some money on electricity bills by large companies. There it is usual for most computers simply are turned on all the time because you can not afford to lose time on updates and other things have to be made during normal working hours.
Many computers today continue to consume power in sleep mode or when they are completely closed. You may have noticed yourself of different buttons that light on the computer although it is off, for example. The EU has to take decisions on new ruleswhich mean that new electronic devices in standby mode can not deduct more than 0.5 watts from 2013. These rules meet the new Fujitsu Siemens Computers by far.
Esprimo P7935 and E7935 will be available this summer.

Card Reader from Transcend to Recovery Program

Transcend, a company which produces memory cards, has launched a card reader that connects via USB. The card reader, Transcend P8, comes with software that is able to recover deleted files from memory cards.
Memory Card Reader Transcend P8 looks like card readers usually do, even if it is a little nicer than average. The interface device measuring 78 x 46 x 16 millimeters and is available in black and white. The price tag was set at 168 crowns.
P8 supports a wide range of sizes of memory cards: CF, SD, SDHC, MMC, MMC plus, RS-MMC, MMC mobile, micro SD, micro SDHC and Memory Stick, and mini SD, mini SDHC, and MMC micro if you have a special adapter. The slots are clearly marked with name and illustration on each card. The device connects to the computer via USB 2.0.
Perhaps the most interesting thing about Transcend P8 is that it comes with a software to recover deleted or corrupted images.  Sometimes it happens that you accidentally delete a digital photography through camera, and using a program like this it is possible to save the photo.

Nvidia 3D Vision provides video games a whole new dimension

At the CES show, the graphics card manufacturer Nvidia unveiled its new Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision.  This supplement consists of a pair of glasses, along with Nvidia graphics card and a monitor capable of 120 Hz, to give the player a 3D experience.
I have honestly not tried Nvidia 3D Vision - yet, anyway - and I am unfortunately not in place at CES, so I have to start from the press release has expired. According to the Nvidia 3D Vision automatically convert hundreds of games into a 3D experience. You wear the glasses, and the result I suppose is the same as when you look at the 3D TV with the classic red-green glasses.
The actual glasses, together with an infrared transmitter that is placed on top of the screen. This has a range of 20 meters.
During the CES show a large number of content providers, display manufacturers, OEMs and system builders support for NVIDIA's 3D technology. To "said Christian Svensson on Capcom:
- NVIDIA 3D Vision has the potential to bring PC gaming to a whole new level by offering an unmatched depth of titles. When you play Dark Void with NVIDIA 3D Vision glasses it really feels like you are inside the game on a whole new way.
Nvidia 3D Vision has initially been launched already in the U.S. where they cost the equivalent of about 1500 crowns.  It is at this moment not clear when they come to Europe and what they will cost, but it is decided that they would come sooner or later.

Kingston DataTraveler 200 series units which may be a new sibling with 128 GB storage capacity. There is already the memories of 64 GB and 32 GB. The new USB stick has features like password protection and support of Windows Vista'sReadyBoost.  Using password protection you can secure your memory so that no one else can read your files, which is good if you lose it. For really good security, read our test of McAfee Zero Footprint.
ReadyBoost is a feature that Microsoft introduced with the Windows Vista, and that makes the OS can use the USB stick as extra memory to store virtual memory. It enables you to have more RAM to work with and to your computer, in theory, becomes faster. With a quick and good USB memory stick it can work really well. Just go to My Computer , right click on your USB stick and select ReadyBoost.
Kingston's new DataTraveler 200 of 128 GB will have a target price of  5225 SEK. There are a lot of money, and get home has so clearly afford it. The advantage is that the smaller memory drops in price. 64 GB model costs 1740 SEK, which is a bit more affordable. All the memories of the series, five-year warranty.

Clean up and secure your PC, part 2: Remove programs

Remove your old programs that you no longer use, to make your computer more secure and to regain storage space.
In Windows, you will find a tool to uninstall programs from Control Panel. It's called the Add or Remove Programs. With this you can easily uninstall the tools and programs that you no longer use.
The problem with the Add or Remove Programs, it is not clean especially effective. Often left files behind, and almost always there is still a lot of keys and information in Windows registry. Therefore, there are other much more effective software.
What I recommend is Revo Uninstaller. This program is absolutely free and very easy to use. It includes several clever features, but as normal user, you can run it just like the standard Windows tools. Right-click on a program you want and select Uninstall.
In the window that opens, you will have to choose between different modes of uninstalls. The top simplest just run the program's own uninstall tool. It provides no effective removal, so I suggest you run Safe Mode or moderate position. The day will Revo Uninstaller also cleaning the registry, and select the most effective procedure is applied even hard disk is scanned for the left-behind junk files you can delete.

This is Engadget , which reports that MSI has displayed two new models of its X-Slim series, called the X340 and X600 .The previously existing model named X320 . Though it should be emphasized that none of the models on the market yet. They have just shown up and is still some way from being launched.

Save your old VHS tapes by digitizing

Magix releases a new package called Magix Video Saver , which will help the home user to digitize their VHS tapes. After digitization, it is to burn movies to DVD or save them on your computer.
In the vast majority of Swedish homes are a lot of VHS cassettes, but it's not always like the old VHS tape player still standing in the living room. About VHS cassettes containing at home recorded movies, it is a very good idea to digitize the films. VHS is not a good format to store video on. Cassettes wear and picture and sound are becoming worse with time.
Digitisation means that you can transfer movies from VHS to the computer , in digital form. When movies get stored on your hard disk you can burn them out, for example, DVD or Blu-ray, or you can have them stored on a media hard drive and watch movies from there.
Magix Video Saver is now being launched in Sweden, and contains everything you need to start digitizing VHS tapes. The package includes cables that you connect between your VCR and computer, and you may even includes software to capture video recordings and convert them to the movies on your computer. Software Magix Movies on DVD 7 can of course also to burn your videos to DVD / Blu-ray discs.
Facts about Magix Video Saver:
  • Contact: Magix
  • Price: 599 SEK
  • In the box: USB video converter, scart adapter, software, Magix Movies on DVD 7

The audio player XMPlay is faster than the west

Why use cumbersome and slow in opening programs such as Windows Media Player and iTunes, to listen to music when there are software lightweight, ultra-fast and customizable as XMPlay?
XMPlay is a tiny free program and no-install (which requires no installation to work) that, once started, a user interface is divided into two parts: one with the controls and a playlist, and another with short extended to the playlist. Supports MP3, WMA, OGG's and many other types of audio files, including playlists.
Its control panel (accessed by right clicking on the main interface and clicking on "Options and stuff" context menu) allows you to customize the software in all its aspects. Affords a means to associate the various types of files to XMPlay, enable and adjust the equalizer, import the Winamp plugin, change the format of the playlist, and much, much more.
Also notable in XMPlay can integrate Windows context menu (to quickly open the music files in it, without changing the associations), to adjust the audio output settings and customize the software interface with different skins ( found on the official website of the program).
As for the RAM consumption, we are at levels very low. When running, the program hardly goes beyond the 4 MB of memory used constantly. And the quality of the reproduction is truly remarkable.

How to improve the management of updates against vulnerabilities

The current situation
Very often, security updates are distributed only after the vulnerability was announced and it leaves plenty of time to "bad." They usually have at least a month in which there are too much trouble finding people that we have not yet installed updates.
But because users do not install the updates as they are distributed? After all, most programs today include auto-update mechanisms, and then we do not even remember to download them.
Updates too laborious
However, there are problems in the current method by which updates are distributed applications. Most people use for months or even years, their PC without paying any attention to the periodic warnings displayed by the operating system and applications. The reason? While the procedure is almost completely automatic installation of updates is almost always a hassle, which leads to wasted time.
When you install an update to the browser for example, should close it and restart it, but they often have open many pages, many of which might be read. Before you close the browser, therefore necessary to consider them all to be sure not to miss anything, which still results in unnecessary loss of time.
How to improve the situation
The software house should organize the updates so that their installation does not affect user productivity.
For example, do not prevent use of an application while it is downloading updates. Make sure these are downloaded in the background and alert you only when everything is ready for installation. Of course it would be great if the application could install its own updates in the complete autonomy during normal use, but this is not reasonably possible.
However, most software manufacturers should be able without too much effort to provide for saving the state of an application before an upgrade, so you can restore to update installed. In any case, users almost never have as a priority the updates, even those related to your antivirus. Normally expect to buy a new PC. The best thing the computer industry can do then is to give users not making excuses updates as transparent as possible.

Asus Eee Tablet in October at a price of $ 599

Asus Eee Tablet is officially presented in preview at Computex in Taipei last year and represents a solution for reading ebook very versatile and innovative.
The Asus has a form factor the size of 8 inches and, unlike true as the Amazon Kindle ebook reader that rely on technology and eInk ePaper, the newcomer uses a TFT LCD panel, manufactured by Chimei Innolux, that is able to work at a resolution of 1,024 × 768 pixels. Tactile sensitivity of this product is of 2,450 dpi and 64 levels of gray.
Thanks to this feature this display should allow for fatigue-free reading of books in electronic format, making it very attractive to students and even high professori.Molto refresh the page, one-tenth of a second. (Almost 10 times less than conventional ebook reader).
Further specification of the tablet about the presence of a built-in 2 megapixel camera, a slot for memory cards, USB port for uploading content and a battery that should provide up to 10 hours of operation.
According to latest reports the Taiwanese manufacturer has set the launch date of the Eee Tablet in key global markets by the end of October. Instead there's more disappointing news on the price should be about $ 599. A price much higher than the expectations placed him between 199 and $ 299. Yet no one knows what the reason for this increase in price, but Asus is currently in talks with several telecom operators (this suggests the presence of a module for the 3G connection), perhaps in order to ensure a lower price through a subscription.
